Where is the Lake City Ski Hill located?
Look for the Ski Hill about one mile south of downtown Lake City on Highway 149.

When is the Lake City Ski Hill open?
Regular hours during the season are Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10 am to 2 pm.  We add more days to the schedule during school vacations, such as during the last week of December, first week of January, and spring break in March.

How much does it cost?
Day Lift Pass
Adult - $10
Child under 18 - $7

Season Pass
Adult - $60
Child under 18 - $40

I do not have any equipment with me.  Do you have skis and boots?
Yes. The Ski Hill has a limited number of skis, boots, and poles available to borrow at our facility at no charge when you purchase a day pass.  Be sure to bring and wear your sunglasses or goggles to prevent snow blindness (ouch).

Do you allow snowboarders?
Yes.

Can we sled on the Lake City Ski Hill?
Sledding is not allowed at the Ski Hill during operating hours. Sleds are considered to be non-directional devices and are thus prohibited by state regulation.  After-hours sledding is not prohibited, however, sledders do so at their own risk.

Can I ski with my dog?
Dogs are not permitted on the ski hill during operating hours.

The lift looks old.  Is it safe?
Yes. Our lift is a Poma EC-15 platter-pull surface lift. It is inspected twice a year by the State of Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, and the wire rope is
inspected every year by Bill and Laura Alsup (thanks!).  We comply with all of the same regulations as the large resorts.  The lift was moved from Arapahoe Basin and installed in Lake City in 1966.  It is the oldest operating lift in Colorado, and typical of the first commercial lifts used in the United States after World War II.
